The cost of installing solar panels varies based on several factors including the size of your home, your energy needs, the type and quality of panels chosen, and local installation prices. On average, homeowners can expect to pay between $10,000 to $30,000 for a typical residential solar panel system before incentives or rebates. However, long-term savings on electricity bills and available incentives can significantly offset these initial costs, making solar a wise investment for many homeowners. In most cases, solar panels can be installed on the roofs of homes in a wide range of locations, provided there is sufficient sunlight exposure. Factors such as roof orientation, shading from nearby trees or buildings, and local weather patterns can affect the efficiency of solar panels. A professional solar installer can conduct a site assessment to determine if your home is suitable for solar and to optimize the placement of panels for maximum efficiency.
There are various financial incentives and rebates available at the federal, state, and local levels to help offset the cost of installing solar panels. The Federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC) allows homeowners to deduct a percentage of the cost of their solar energy system from their federal taxes. Additionally, many states offer their own incentives such as rebates, tax credits, or performance-based incentives for solar installations. Local utility companies may also offer net metering programs, allowing homeowners to sell excess electricity generated by their solar panels back to the grid for credits on their utility bills. It's essential to research and take advantage of these incentives to maximize the financial benefits of going solar.
You will receive one bill from your utility company and you will receive one bill for your solar panels. Our goal is to get the new combined bill to be much less than your previous bill. One of our representatives can help show you exactly what you can expect for a new bill.
You can either pay off the system when you sell your home, or you can transfer the system to the new homeowner. Either option is an easy way to transition out of your home.
If the power goes out in your area, systems tied to the grid go out as well. It’s not safe to send power into the grid when workers are attempting to fix a power outage problem. Adding a home battery can give you a limited amount of power to specific items within your home.
After solar panels are installed on your home you begin producing power. Any excess power your home doesn’t use will be sent back to your utility company. Your electric meter will run backwards. You will feed excess energy to the utility company during the day and then receive it back during the nighttime, at no cost.
Cadmus Solar gives its customers access to $0 down loan options that allow customers to finance their systems for up to 25 years with incredibly low-interest rates. This makes the decision to go solar much easier because customers don’t have to come out of pocket with anything and instead simply replace their old Utility bill with a lower bill that eventually ends.
After the term of your loan is complete you officially own the system and will have no more monthly payments on the system for the remaining life of the panels. CONTACT US today so we can answer any additional questions you have and see if solar is a good fit for you!
